March is a month of transition over most of Africa, in terms of weather and animal movement. Luckily we are here to point out the highlights of where to visit during this month.

April sees the rainy season in full flow in East Africa with many camps closing. Southern Africa is seeing the transition from the rainy to the dry seasons.

May sees the continuation of the heavy rains in East Africa making destinations such as Tanzania areas to avoid. Southern Africa has seen the last of its rains.

June is the start of the peak season over East and Southern Africa. The rains have stopped and the dry season has really started to kick in.

The safari season is in full swing across Africa. In East Africa the Great Migration is at its most exciting and in Southern Africa, Namibia and Botswana are two polar opposite landscapes attracting an abundance of wildlife for different reasons.

August is the most popular month for visitors in East and Southern Africa. Throughout safari Africa, every country has exceptional wildlife viewing in this month.

Temperatures are starting to rise across Southern Africa, the chill of the winter is receding and the humidity is slowly rising. The lack of rain and low vegetation is still making game viewing easy.

October indicates the end of the dry seasons in Eastern and Southern Africa and game viewing remains very good. In Eastern Africa, the temperatures tend to remain moderate.

November sees the return of the rains for most of the Southern African countries. In East Africa there November is the start of the short rains.

No matter the weather during December, Christmas is always a hugely popular time to visit Eastern and Southern Africa. Eastern Africa is in its second (and final) month of the short rainy season..
