Johannesburg CBD was once the epicenter of the gold rush era in the late 1800s and is rich in history. It lies atop the continental watershed in a highveld grassland environment, a cosmopolitan metropolis and a city of history of exclusion and segragation, a cosmopolitan resistance against apartheid, a centre of creativity, a thirsty city, a world in one and a man made forest.
Visit the Constitution Hill, home to the highest court in the land Drive through downtown Overlook Johannesburg from the tallest building in downtown known as the Top of Africa.

Another fabulous trip and I just loved the huge colony of penguins. The whole day trip was magic with baboons running around our feet at Cape of Good Hope and the feeling of being at the bottom of the world as you looked out to sea. Well worth doing

Constitution Hill
For one hour tour, this is our stop which is a living museum that tells the story of South Africa’s journey to democracy. The site is a former prison and military fort that bears testimony to South Africa’s turbulent past. Today, it is home to the Constitutional Court which endorses the rights of all citizens. Mahatma Ghandi was was once incarcerated here and during the Apartheid struggle some Political Prisoners including Nelson Mandela were once incarcerated here.
We drive on Nelson Mandela Bridge on the way to New Town. Your guide gives you an orientation tour of Johannesburg, pointing out historic sites and heritage buildings. This includes Newtown Junction, Mary Fitzgerald Square, The Stand bank Mineshaft Museum, Gandhi Square and Luthuli House.
Carlton Centre
We take the elevator to the top of a 50 story previously the tallest building in Africa where you can have a nice panoramic view of the city Johannesburg.
Maboneng Precinct
Our last stop also a choice of having Lunch. This is a newly rejuvenated part of town that was once an abandoned place. A home to art galleries, pubs and restaurants
