Visitors can also take a train from Bulawayo to Hwange National Park, which takes around 4 hours. However, the train schedule can be unpredictable, so it is best to check in advance.
Hwange National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and over 400 bird species.
Hwange boasts over 400 bird species, including raptors, vultures, hornbills, rollers, bee-eaters, and sunbirds. It is also a breeding ground for several species of eagles and vultures.
The best time to visit Hwange National Park is during the dry season, which typically runs from June to October. During this time, wildlife viewing is excellent as animals tend to congregate around watering holes and the vegetation is less dense, making them easier to spot. Additionally, the weather is pleasant, with cool mornings and evenings and warm, sunny days.
